This site is a more informal place to post work that is more personal, experimental and hopefully fun. Along with photographs that did not make it to the more commercial www.balmainphotography.com site, viewers will find experimental work, web development, some old stuff, and yes, even a few silly pet pictures.

Web Development
Web development is becoming a growing interest for me. I spend countless hours playing with web standards design, CSS and my photographic images. This page uses Web Standard design, CSS and some Photoshop PNG graphics.
UNFORTUNATELY Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 does a lousy job of displaying web standards based sites. IE also has major issues with displaying PNG files and files with alpa transparency layers. This frustration even has its own acronym: IDWIMIE - It Doesn't Work In Microsoft Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is frozen in a non-standards past but the majority of web surfers use Windows and IE6/IE7. The use of the new javascript known as the "Unit PNG Fix" helps IE6 keep the presentation up to speed with the better browsers. But this method is still a band aid that covers the faults of a browser that should have been long since retired. Web browsers should be like milk - once they pass the expiration date they should be poured down the sink...
